Jean Moreau
has more than 25 years of experience in real estate planning, development, and acquisition. Since 1983, she has focused solely on the retirement housing industry. Prior to founding JMAI, Jean developed and acquired retirement communities for two of the nation's largest multi-family housing developers: Oxford Development and National Housing Partnership. Since founding JMAI in 1989, Jean has had the pleasure of working for clients that include small, community-based organizations; religious organizations; health care providers; small, mid-sized, and large development firms; and lenders. She is often asked to speak at national and state conferences and was recently recipient of the Beacon Institute's Volunteer of the Year award. Jean has a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York, and studied International Politics at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. She has a strong commitment to the retirement housing industry and to providing quality housing and care choices to America's seniors.

Louise Coats is responsible for conducting peer reviews of JMAI market studies in order to assure the highest quality of work and she is our expeditor, ensuring that our work progresses on a timely basis. Louise is also responsible for maintaining an ongoing educational experience for JMAI employees and clients, including our quarterly newsletter (The Moreau Report), a resource library and our website. She joined JMAI in July 1998. Prior to joining JMAI, Louise was involved in home and community-based services through the Texas Department of Human Services and in dementia education and training through the Alzheimer's Association with both the Northern Connecticut and Heart of America chapters. She is our resident expert on programming for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Louise holds two BAs from Indiana University and an MS in Gerontology from Baylor University in Texas. Louise is dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors and to providing optimal housing choices and service options for them.

Paul M. Lewis has over 22 years of broad and deep experience in the businesses of senior living. He has been in the non-profit world, the for-profit world, and the areas that span the two. He has been the Executive Director of CCRCs, Project Director for new developments, Operations Director in a growing multi-facility organization, and President of his own development company. Currently providing consulting services to JMAI, along with varied other activities, Paul brings knowledge and contacts from across a large spectrum to help organizations chart the right course. Paul is a graduate of the University of Vermont and has an MBA from Boston University, where he also did graduate work in Urban Planning. He is a Pennsylvania licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has in the past had a Pennsylvania Real Estate Sales license.

Susan Bender is an operations executive and licensed nursing home administrator who brings more than 20 years experience in senior residential settings to JMAI.    Susan’s experience in creating innovative strategies for organizational culture change, and developing community based services that promote health and well being contribute to flourishing senior living community life.  Susan has a B.S. in Education from Michigan State University and is completing her M.A. in Healing Arts from Tai Sophia Institute.  Susan is a frequent speaker and presenter at national and state association conferences on health and well being.

Lisa Segmiller brings more than 20 years experience in the continuing care industry to JMAI.  Prior to joining JMAI, Lisa was the Chief of Continuing Care for the Maryland Department of Aging.  Lisa was responsible for the regulation of Continuing Care Retirement Communities which included reviewing and analyzing financial statements, feasibility studies, and other related documents to ensure compliance with the continuing care laws and regulations.  Lisa's experience also includes auditing Continuing Care Retirement Communities with a regional accounting firm, McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond.  Lisa is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Penn State University.

Joy Zwicker, through her company, Zwicker Services, Incorporated (ZSI), is responsible for human resources, accounting, technology, and training at JMAI. ZSI and JMAI have enjoyed a nine-year relationship. Joy has more than two decades of administrative/organizational management and computer system experience, including: director of administration, manager of operations, senior administrator, and computer trainer. Joy started her career in the United States Navy as a CTT-Communications Technical Technician, and held a top-secret clearance throughout her military career. She attended Gwynedd Mercy College and has attended numerous industry seminars and workshops to stay current in the ever-changing computer industry. Joy is featured on a Philadelphia radio station and in local newspapers, discussing the world of computers.
